Object literature: Born in Arita town, Fujii Shumei started working in the local porcelian factories since the age of 15. He is most known for his own indigo painting technique called "leaf technique," in which he uses real leaves from a tree to paint his works. Fujii Shumei is an Arita-ware potter from Saga, the birthplace of Arita and Imari porcelain. His works were not only accepted at numerous art exhibitions both domestic and international, but also purchased as gifts for diplomatic goodwill.
