Object literature: Saigō Takamori (1828 – 1877) was a Japanese samurai and nobleman. He was one of the most influential samurai in Japanese history and he led the Meiji Restoration. Takamori lived during the Edo and early Meiji time, he later led the Satsuma Rebellion against the Meiji government. He his also known as the last samurai.
