A beautiful Ando Jubei vase from the late Meiji, early Shōwa period. Rim and base finished in brass silver metal. The vase is in excellent condition. Vase is signed with the Ando studio mark on the base.
Object literature: Ando Jubei (1876–1956) was a Japanese artist that dominated Nagoya's enameling industry in the late Mejii era. Ando Jubei was the Meiji era's most prolific creator of presentation wares: artworks that were commissioned by members of the Imperial Family for presentation to foreign dignitaries. He exhibited at the Japan-British Exhibition of 1910. His work is held in the collections of many museums around the world.
