Very Nice Chinese, Ming Dynasty, Glazed Terracotta Zodiac Figure Ming Dynasty

A nice Chinese Ming Dynasty earthenware green glazed Zodiac figure standing on an integral, flat base. The figure is dressed in long robe, covered with yellow scarf. His hands are folded in front of his chest where the represantation of a zodiac is placed. This interesting zodiac figure comes from a series of twelve figures, each holding a different animal.

Object literature: The Chinese zodiac is a 12 years cycle of 12 signs. Each year being represented by an animal: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig. 

Object history: From the private collection of a Somerset gentleman; previously in an old British collection, formed before 2000 on the UK /European art markets.
